Hours of Operation
The boarding rate is for 24-hour increments. The 24-hour period starts at the time your pet is dropped off. If you pick your pet up AFTER the time you originally dropped them off, you will be charged for a day of daycare. If you exceed the number of hours allowed for a day of daycare, you will be charged for another night of boarding instead.
We are “open” for business Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7am – 6pm, by appointment only. You may schedule drop-offs and pick-ups for daycare and boarding between those hours. Keep in mind that I have other clients, so your flexibility is appreciated.
We are “closed” on Sundays. That does not mean that the boarding dogs are not being cared for, it just means that we do not do any daycare or schedule any boarding drop offs or pick-ups.
Pet Eligibility Criteria
Adult dogs must be spayed or neutered.
Females in heat will not be accepted.
Breed restrictions apply due to insurance and liability requirements.
Payment
PAYMENT IN FULL is due at drop off for boarding and daycare. I do not refund money if you return early from your travels. This is because you have reserved my time and/or space in my home, and I may have turned away other clients in order to accommodate your pets. Cash or personal checks are accepted. We also have a business PayPal account.
Cancellations
Last minute cancellations cost me money and this is my livelihood. If cancellations become a problem, I reserve the right to require ½ of the boarding fee to be paid up-front in order to reserve dates on my calendar. The remainder of the boarding fee would be due at drop off. The down payment will be non-refundable if the client cancels.
Drop-off and Pick up Procedure
I will be watching for you through the numerous windows that we have. If I do not meet you outside after a minute or two, please come to the first back door or text me! Avoid knocking on the door if at all possible, but if you’re in a hurry, please do!
We use our “mudroom” to bring everyone in/out and there is a double door, which makes arrivals / exits easier. Please arrive at the time we have agreed upon. There are days that I have a very tight schedule and have multiple clients picking up or dropping off and Meet & Greets with new clients. If you are early or late, you are potentially inconveniencing other clients, OR, I may not even be home (Dr. Appt., errands, grocery shopping, etc.
That being said, I realize that things happen. Send me a text message and I will certainly accommodate you if I am able to! If not, we will work out a new time.
More than likely, you will not be invited into the house. This is because your presence gets all the pups excited, worked up, and CRAZY. If you have concerns, or feel that you MUST enter the house during a drop off / pick up, we will accommodate you. Just be advised that you WILL be jumped on, licked, barked at, etc., and they will all try to leave with you. You were warned!
What to bring for boarding
Food
Either pre-portioned by meal or in a container /dog food bag with whatever you measure the portion out with (scoop, cup, etc.). Write out and attach feeding instructions for your dog and make sure your dog’s name is on it. Please measure out the food to be sure we actually have enough for your entire trip. I advise that you send a couple days extra because things happen occasionally (delayed flights, etc.).
If your dog is a grazer, they will be offered food in the morning, in the evening, and once during the day. We cannot leave dog bowls with food out all day because it WILL be eaten by someone else! All dogs are fed separately to avoid food aggression. If your dog has allergies to chicken, pork, etc…or there is something that he or she should NOT be given {no PB due to allergies in the home), write this on the feeding instructions!
For example: MOLLY REED– 1 scoop, 2 times per day – Allergic to chicken or LUNA SMITH – GRAZER – No PB due to allergies in the home
Bed / Blanket / Toys
You are more than welcome to send these items, but I cannot guarantee that they will come home in one piece. And toys may end up under furniture. I keep LOTS of all of these items on hand, and I promise that your fur-baby will be comfortable and have plenty of “new” toys to play with.
Food / Water Dishes
I have plenty on hand here. The pups all tend to drink from the numerous water bowls we keep around here (they are washed daily). If you do send a food bowl, please put your pet’s name on it. Please do not send ceramic dishes if possible (I am terrified I will break them). If your dog has food allergies (chicken, port, etc.), I need to know that. Also, please let me know if there are peanut allergies in your home.
Treats
You are welcome to bring treats or snacks (carrots, berries, etc.) for your pup. If you would like to, and you are able, it’s fantastic if you bring enough for everyone. Have you ever tried giving one of your children something and not the others? Yeah. Same result here! We do keep plenty of yummy, high-quality treats on hand if your pup is allowed to have them, and we NEVER give anyone rawhide. If your dog tends to have an upset tummy, no treats will be given unless they were sent by you. Please let me know if your pup should not be given treats.
Medication/Supplements
Please bring medications in the original bottle / container dispensed by the pharmacy / veterinarian. Please write dispensing directions for each medication. Please make sure your pet’s name is on it. If your pet takes any kind of supplement, or over-the-counter medication, please send them in the original container / box that they came in with your pet’s name on it.
Discipline
The only form of discipline used here is a spray bottle with water in it or perhaps a stern “talking to.” A time out away from the other dogs may also be necessary.
ID Tag
We prefer that your pup have a collar with an up-to-date ID tag. Microchips are great, but not everyone will take your pet to be scanned. Harnesses that have to be put on / taken off every time the dog has to go out to potty are a huge inconvenience to us because we are in and out all day long numerous times. If you send your dog wearing a harness, chances are, they will wear the harness the entire time they are here. Same goes with coats and sweaters.
Medical Emergencies
In case of an emergency, every effort will be made to contact you, and if possible, your dog’s regular vet. If an emergency occurs during your vet’s non-business hours, every attempt will be made to get your fur-baby to the nearest emergency vet hospital that is open. As you may know, there is an industry-wide shortage of veterinarians.
Grooming
We do not offer grooming or bathing services here. Your pup is here to run and play and they WILL get a bit dirty. If they get muddy, I will certainly give them a spray off in our dog shower.
